SMALL GROUPS
@ First Church.
"Doing Life Together!"

STARTING POINT is a fun, easy and non threatening way to test the waters of Small Group life for three weeks.  Pastor Brad leads it.  All you have to do is show up and enjoy the experience.  After each session you'll have the opportunity to either start a new small group with your friends, or join a group that's already up and running.  And, if it turns out that small groups just aren't your thing, no problem, no pressure, no worries, you can walk away with no questions asked.

Starting Point is offered periodically throughout the year.  Be sure to check the worship bulletin and listen to the weekly announcements for details.

TEN COMANDMENTS OF SMALL GROUP LEADERSHIP

1. MODEL INTENTIONALLY
Welcoming guests, Self-Disclosure, passion for God, love for the group, etc.

2. VISION-CAST OFTEN
Remember, small groups are all about three things:
Christ-centered Friendships, Spiritual Growth, and Support/Shepherding.

3. PRAY DAILY
Pray for your group daily.

4. UNCLIQUE MISSIONALLY
Explain the difference between "intimate" and "close" relationships.
And passionately call the group to the mission of connecting the unconnected.

5. SQUASH GRIPING IMMEDIATELY
Small Groups are not the place to critique or criticize: people, First Church, or etc.

6. BALANCE EVERYTHING
Curriculum, Social & Study Time, Mercy & Accountability.

7. CHECK IN REGULARLY
Touch base with Brad and keep the information flowing.

8. LEARN CONTINUALLY
Leaders are learners, and learners are leaders.

9. PARTICIPATE FAITHFULLY
We are striving to create a Small Group Leader training culture that will
encourage, support and mentor you-participate in it.

10. LOVE ALWAYS

Living It Out!

Most of our groups are on break for the summer.  We won't be posting new LIVING IT OUT study guides during the break.  As soon as we relaunch this fall new study guides will posted each week.
GROUP LEADERS
How to USE Starting Point

When you hear that a STARTING POINT is coming up--that is a great opportunity to really think about anyone within your group who may be ready/interested in leading a group!  Talk to them--encourage them to attend Starting Point and tell them that you'll GO WITH THEM!  if they have some friends that are interested in being part of a new group--they can invite them to come too!  USE this meeting... it's a simple way for you to be used by God to raise up new leaders!  And if you have ANY QUESTIONS--NEVER hesitate to contact me @ pastorbrad@aol.com!
