At First Church, Small Groups are all about helping people connect with each other. Christianity is a relational event. God designed the church to be a community where people love, help, support, challenge, teach, exhort and encourage one another. Simply put-- we really do need each other.   Small groups exist at First Church for that very reason.

          Would you like to connect with people on a little deeper level than just saying "Hello" between services?

desire to grow in Christ and love and support one another in
the process?

Small Group Ministry Objectives... We have three very clear objective (goals) for every small group @ First Church.

1. Relational Connection
2. Spritual Growth
3. Care and Shepherding

Leader Mentoring... We take nurtuing, supporting, equipping, training, helping and loving our group leaders very seriously. Small Group leaders are the backbone of Small Groups--so we want to do everything we can to help them be as successful as possible.

A DESIRE For Others To Discover Community... This is huge! We REALLY encourage our groups to have a passion to LOOK for people OUTSIDE of the group who need to experience the love and support that group life provides... AND INVITE THEM!

Our Definition of Small Groups... We have a broad definition of "Small Groups." For us--it's all about connections--people connecting relationally with each other--with Christ at the center of it all.

We have 4 basic kinds of groups at First Church:

1) Study Groups--primarily focused on Bible Study.

2) Affinity Groups--focused on some mission or activity--like, parenting, drama, crafting, prayer, missions, mechanics, watching football, etc.

3) Koinonia Groups---focussed on relational growth with one another and with God--hungry to connect on a heart level.

4) Spiritual Partners--One on One relationships. Two friends committed to meeting regularly to provide sprititual encourage and accountablity for one another.
